On her first day of opening, Nina was already booked over three weeks in advance and is yet another of our successful students.
Hi - my name is Nina Gray and I attended the 6w course at Cutz 4 Mutz in Nov09. My goal was always to open my own groomers and pet accessories shop in Glynneath, West Glamorgan - and on Sat 27th March '10, Waggs Dog Grooming & Pet Accessories first opened it's doors to customers after 3 months of hard work to renovate the shop (and a hefty bank loan!) Now I've been open for just 2 weeks and Waggs has exceeded my expectations already and is turning into a real success. I am actually very proud of myself!
I could not have done this without the brilliant grounding of the 6 week course at Cutz 4 Mutz. Mandy gave me the skills and nurtured my confidence to become a good groomer. She was always extrememly patient and never seemed to mind my incessant questions and my desire to know more! I owe her a great debt of thanks and compared to other grooming courses available in South Wales, Mandy clearly cares about her students and their desire to succeed as groomers.
If I can offer any piece of advice to any new groomer looking to set up on their own, but not sure they can do it, it is simply that if you do the 6 or 8 week with Mandy and you have worked hard whilst there, you have the skills to groom well; you will lack experience, but as long as when you do start up, you allow plenty of time for each dog, don't rush and don't expect too much of yourself, the experience will come in time and with it a little more pace. A good cut is far better than a rushed, bad one and owners really don't mind to wait as long you have phoned in advance you are running a little behind.

Thank you so much for all of the great information and instruction on our one-day owners course. It was both extremly useful and informative but it also gave us a look at the (not so much) glamorous life of a dog groomer.
I would highly recommend your course - everyone has commented on how smart Mickey looks and now I know how to keep him looking that way too.

Sorry its been so long, been very busy getting the salon and kennels ready. Finally opened last monday, and did not know what to expect as this is a new concept in Goa, but it has been a great success so far, I advertised in the locall paper on sunday and my phone has not stoped ringing and have been grooming all week so far I have had 2 cocker spaniels, Tibetan terrier, Carin terrier, Red setter, Lassa and 3 Labs in my first week. The kennels are also doing well, my first dog was a pekingese called Ki Ki who actually came home with me as he was only 4 mths old and stayed for the week, and next mth the kennels are full (only taking 4 dogs at a time tho so I can give them the proper care).
How are you and the family doing? and the salon? Missing you all.

Mandy and her team taught me the skills and gave me the confidence to groom dogs in a fun and encouraging way.
I had previously completed a dog grooming course in London, which left me feeling uncertain about my abilities and seriously lacking in confidence when working on my own.
Mandy and her team rectified this and now I feel confident with the new skills she taught me, to work comfortably on any dog.
I can not thank Mandy enough and would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking of entering this business to get a good and solid foundation by training with Cutz 4 Mutz.
Training shouldn't be this much fun.

Here are my grooming photos, I did have a lot more but silly me got the start photo and not the finished one so these are all the ones that I have start and finished ones. Sorry I haven't got in touch sooner, got home fine yesterday the journey went well. I had an amazing week with you and feel I learnt a lot from the course. So pleased with my certificate I feel a real sense of achievement. Everyone was lovely to work with I had so much fun. I've also included some photos I took of the beach and the student house im not sure if you want to use them or not I just thought It might be nice for students to see how lovely the beach and port are and get an idea of what to expect before they arrive. The accommodation was great very comfortable and there was a great sociable atmosphere with the others there.

Hi Mandy thanks very much for the help and support you, Donna and Simone provided over the six week course. I came into this industry with no experience what so ever and thought what the hell have i done, but you all steered me through with your patience and fun attitude which made it a very enjoyable experience. The course gave me the ability to open Mutleys Dog Grooming and with the continued support at the end of the phone has given me the confidence to take on any dog.
I cant recomend Cutz 4 Mutz highly enough and would urge anyone who is thinking about a career in dog grooming to give them a go. Cheers Adrian

Thanks Mandy, It's my last day tomorrow and I will miss you all very much, your tuition is second to none and every one of the dogs that leave your salon do so after having a final check from you or trained staff member and don't leave unless you are happy. You have lovely clients and brilliant business and staff and I am only glad I found you and became part of it for my 30day Foundation course. I now feel confident to open my own grooming business which is thanks to you.
